I just put a new entry at the top of Spinny's old guestbook...

...since Google loves sites to link back to you, and it might help Janine find this site. I referenced the blog in the guestbook. I wonder how long it'll take our Faerie Princess to find her way to this new castle? Hmmm.

Checked Google Search, still not coming up...

...in the first five pages of results with this blog.

I'll just have to keep thinking of things to post. I know! I'll post Flight To Cupid's Castle next time I'm in here! That should make great reading on the castle billboard, and help our missing damsel find us out here in the wilds of the Internet!

I just checked...

...and Janine's Geocities site is gone.

Good thing I saved all the bricks, because someday Spinny's castle will be rebuilt.

I have the karaoke site backed up too! Oh, you didn't know my friend Spinny was a singer too? Yup, sure enough. You know us artistic types, never enough outlets for creativity.

I just spent the past couple of hours backing up Spinny's Geocities site...

...as I read online that Yahoo is shutting down ALL Geocities sites today.

I THINK I have everything. I certainly hope so. Just after I saved what I thought was the last file, I started getting error messages trying to look online at some of the pages I've saved.

I checked the copies I have of the last few pages, everything is valid.

With any luck, Janine, I saved the whole Geocities site for you. The same can't be said of Spinnys.com - I think I got about 2/3 of it before it went down.

I found your snail-mail address, I'll try to send you what I have on CD soon.

Hugs,

Dan

References to Janine or Spinny's castle (The Original) online...

Here I'll post any links I can find to Janine or her sites from around the web. I'll try to modify this same post as I find other references.

Spinny The Poet...

Janine is an excellent poet and artist, the two of us even collaborated on a couple of poems. You can find many of her works at http://www.lightverse.com . Flight To Cupid's Castle is our best collaborative work, I think.

this is one that I wrote for her to cheer her up when she was having a rough day:

Gossamer Soul...

If there is a font of kindness you have drawn it's draught surely,
In the well of imagination you have bathed by Moonlight,
Dancing upon clouds you rain smiles upon the Earth,
Even filled with tears to bursting you are a light among shadows,
Knowing that to be human is to feel pain you still exude joy,
Worry not that your empathy is leaden. (It isn't so.)

If you impart laughlight into darkness then you have sung your brightest song.

Whirl upon your pedestal amidst the soulflowers,
Itself merely the earthen hill where the sunrise is your backlight,
Innocent wisdom becomes you,
As we are all graced to know your name,
When you light upon your castle's ramparts,
Rainbow wings folded shut and having done what you must...

Be filled with knowing that this is enough.

Spinny's Creations

http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Square/3468/

The above is Janine's earlier web site that is still up, she crafted it before http://www.spinnys.com .

I have no idea how long it will stay up, but it's been in place at least since the 1990's.

Janine and I have been friends online since 1996, but have never met in-person. She lives waaaaay down under in Australia, and I live waaaaay up here in Chicago-land in the USA.

Here is a pic of my Spinny friend:

A Signpost In Cyberspace -

Janine,

This is the only way I know that MIGHT reach you, so let me know if you find it!

I have a partial backup of your web site if you need it, maybe two-thirds or so. I couldn't get it all backed up for you.

I hope all is well with you, old friend.
