Autumn Splendor - re-written

Silent .....
majestic .....
golden and serene
are the words
that came to me
when I discovered
this beautiful scene
Autumn splendor at its best

Even a great artist
would be put to the test
to copy it so
in all of its making
would be to beat God
at his own creation

A flurry of leaves
across the ground
a gentle breeze
blowing on my neck
a sea of color
of russet tones
Autumn splendor at its best

It's Autumn here in Australia now. It starts on the 1st of March.

I re-wrote this, 2006.

Wow! Talk about painting a bright beautiful picture for us with words! And with the actual picture displayed makes even more vivid Janine.

Is this a picture you took? Just stunning!

For colour, autumn takes some beating and your words really reflected this. A classic season poem from J9!
