Baby's Breath incl.photo of baby Indeya

Last week I held an angel,
Her mother placed her in my arms,
Her name was Indeya Lotus,
And I beheld her magic charms.

She gazed up at me intently,
I saw a brightness in her eyes,
Her tiny hand reached out for mine,
Grasped my finger then she smiled.

I touched her cheek so softly,
Loved the smoothness of her skin,
I held her close and cuddled her,
Felt my love surge from within.

To hear her gurgling laughter,
Was a really special treat,
I loved the smell of her baby's breath,
It was wonderfully fresh and sweet.

My beautiful baby grand daughter,
To my chest I held her near,
I'm very happy to meet you Indeya,
I whispered softly in her ear.

Last week my daughter Trudie came here for a quick holiday
and I got to meet my grand daughter for the first time. She
is 7 months old and a little darling. In this poem I tried
to express the wonder of meeting her for the first time and
holding her in my arms.

Congrads on your new Grandchild.
Your expression of love is very
touching indeed. Give her big G'day
from me.

Janine, This poem is so lovely! Your joy in your granddaughter shows
through sweet and clear, and it has that natural, smooth flow to it that
the best poems always do, because there is that something "right" with
them. I hope Indeya reads this later in life and realizes she was welcomed
into this world with open arms by her grandmother, a magical lady.
Congratulations!

The reading of this poem takes me back, to when my 2 daughters were born and the feeling I got when I held them
for the first time.

awww... how sweeet :) My girls aren't quite to the age that they would make me a grandmother... but it's not too far away. I look forward to the experience, and having a baby to hold again.

Enjoyed your poem, Janine :)
