A Tribute to our Love
My darling sweet man,
Today is a special day......
A day to celebrate our love and for me to give you my gift
And say thanks for loving me so....
Before you.... you see the person I have become
Since having the pleasure of your friendship
Your love and your fun.
Today is a special day......
A day to celebrate our love and for me to give you my gift
And say thanks for loving me so....
Before you.... you see the person I have become
Since having the pleasure of your friendship
Your love and your fun.
I close my eyes and I sigh........
As I feel so warm and protected in your embrace....
My face pressed against your chest
And our hearts pumping, throbbing, pulsing.....keeping pace,
I love the smell of you....so special, so sweet,
I breathe deeply in and give a little start
As I feel your hand placed ever so gently atop my heart.
Before our lips meet and we start to kiss...
I hear you moan and say...
Darling...... this is such bliss....
To be in your arms to hold and love you...well...
There's NOTHING in this world I'd rather do!
A smile springs to my lips just as your lips meet mine
And I think to myself
Wow.......
That's so sweet..........
But I know one more thing that you love to do............
Aahh...... but that's our secret just between me and you,
Your kiss tells me a lot more than words can ever say
And my heart swells even more with my love for you today,
I think to myself as I go weak in the knees.............
Oooh my darling man..........
I am here to love you always ............
I give myself to you..............
A gift to pleasure and please!

I'm really sorry about the spacing. I didn't submit it this way. At this stage I've got no idea how to fix it.

To write such a poem, I feel one has to be truly in love with that person or at one time in their life had a special love. You have to experience it to write it. It makes the poem all the more special!

Hi It occurred to me that as poets we tend to be somewhat self-centered at times and thereby miss a lot of good things that others have to offer. I, therefore, have undertaken to read and comment on all the poems posted on the 50 most veiwed and 50 most recent catagories. I can find some good in the poorest of poetry and something to critisize in the best of poetry. The project may take some time but the fact that you are reading this should indicate that I've read this piece and enjoyed, at least, some if not all of what you ‘ve written. I'll leave the judging to the experts. It.s enough for me to know the you cared enough to share your work with us all. I would also encourage you all to share your thoughts with me and all the others that have contributed to this website. Just remember: A SONG IS NOT A SONG ‘TIL YOU SING IT A BELL IS NOT A BELL ‘TIL YOU RING IT LOVE IS NOT PUT IN YOUR HEART TO STAY LOVE IS NOT LOVE ‘TIL YOU GIVE IT AWAY Claud

Though I don't know you or your man, I do know you are both blessed to have one another, A Tribute To Our Love, is a very beautiful piece with an expression of love, though it be wonderful, must only be a slight reflection of the true love you share. Thank you for sharing this with us. Ron

Why did I not meet you, say 40 to 50 years ago, when I was starting out? Such is life. To be able to say in words and write in words how you feel is an immense asset. It will help you down life's long road. And when, as Kathleen Raine writes, "if you can converse with that eternal wisdom in your poetry you will possess that genius which is at the heart of the true poetic. "(Kathleen Raine, The Inner Journey of the Poet and Other Papers, Allen and Unwin, London, 1982, p.72.) |
